Tandia completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria, and her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the University of Western States in Portland Oregon.
Tandia grew up in Gibsons where she was surrounded by outdoor activities which sparked a passion for promoting exercise and well-being. She was a varsity level soccer player, and played a variety of sports growing up. She has worked with the University of Victoria rugby and field hockey teams, in an adaptive gym for individuals with mental and physical disabilities, and volunteered as a coach for Special Olympics. Additionally, she was fortunate to have the opportunity to work as an intern under the former Olympic Chiropractor for the USOC while completing her Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
Tandia believes in looking at the whole picture when it comes to rehabilitation. She gives individuals the tools they need to succeed on their own by addressing the emotional, physical, and social components of injuries, rather than just the symptoms. She believes that the key to success is a combined effort between the practitioner and the patient, and that the patient plays a key role in their success. Her approach includes ART soft tissue work, postural assessments, and strength and power training.
Tandia’s areas of interest include but are not limited to working with individuals with low back and neck pain, post-concussion symptoms, and pregnancy and postpartum. She also enjoys working with athletes, the general public, and geriatric populations.
You can find Tandia mountain biking, hiking, or running the sea-wall when not working.
