KATIE MEREDITH

Katie joins EVSRC from Sydney, Australia; with a breadth of experience both as a Strength and Rehab Coach and Clinical Exercise Physiologist. Her passion lies in bridging the gap between acute injury rehab and return to sport: aiming to fix and manage dysfunction before building more capacity than before.

Since completing her Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology in Sydney, Katie has run several strength and rehab programs for NSW Netball, GWS Giants AFL Academy and local rowing clubs. After moving to Vancouver in 2018, Katie worked at Fortius Sport & Health and then independently as a strength coach, as well as Strength and Conditioning Coach for Netball Canada. Katie has also worked in private Exercise Physiology with clinical populations, including cardiac, musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation.

Katie’s areas of interest include ACLr return to sport pathways, lower back pain and training the female athlete. As a high level netballer, Katie understands the importance of strength and movement for girls in high-impact sports such as volleyball, soccer and basketball. Building strength in basic movement skills is inherent to Katie’s sessions. She also strongly believes in the power of working in an integrated support team for the client, and is constantly learning from talented practitioners around her.

When she’s not working, Katie loves being next to and in the water: open water (and cold water!) swimming, paddle-boarding and windsurfing. She’s an avid hiker and will usually be scrambling up mountains on a sunny weekend!
