Lianna has been practicing as a Kinesiologist and a strength and conditioning coach since obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia. During her time at UBC, Lianna worked in a chronic pain clinic and developed knowledge and interest in pain science. She also volunteered with the UBC varsity strength and conditioning program where she worked closely with athletes on a number of different varsity teams. Lianna’s professional experiences have provided her the opportunity to work with people of all ages and abilities.
Lianna played many sports growing up, including soccer, softball and basketball. Before transferring to UBC, Lianna played basketball for Capilano University and discovered a passion for strength and conditioning. During this time Lianna also learned how strength and movement patterns are essential not only for improving individual performance, but also increasing longevity.
Lianna’s vocation is to make exercise and the gym a safe space for everyone and she aspires to help people find joy in movement. Developing strong fundamentals and building on basics are essential components of Lianna’s training programs.
Outside of the clinic, you can find Lianna on the basketball court (both coaching and playing), hiking the north shore mountains, or discovering a new local brewery.
